Recent years, we can see quite a lot of fashion brands had a collaboration with Disney or the collections are inspired from Disney characters.

Last year, Barney’s launch a campaign called “ The Electric Holiday”; the video depicting Minnie’s imaginary world of been slim and wearing designers outfit walking under the spotlight and surrounding by all the fashion celebrities.

Although this video has controversial issues regard to showing bad example of been too slim, all the weights issues in fashion world. But for me, I think they are too sensitive; is like the kids when they are young sometime they like to pretend they are adult by sneakily wearing mother high heels, imagine when they grew up they can be beautiful.

Designers start to create design from Disney characters, as we know the most popular character is Mickey and Minnie mouse. Following are few examples, Jeremy Scott x Adidas originals, Mickey legging from Lovely Sally and Jean Charles de Castelbajac 2009 and lady gaga Mickey outfit.

Gerlan Jeans is New York based sportswears found in 2009, their destination is to spread peace, unity and love through print, color and pattern.  This season has totally different look, last season is all about wicked witches, gothic style. SS2013 collection has a cartoon look – Minnie;

from Minnie, the main point are the big bow, polka dots and cartoon color. As we can see, there are lantern shape short with flounced, bow jumpsuit, hoodies with Minnie ear. Apart from Minnie collaboration, this season focus on “Gerl power” which mean girls and boys with lots of opinions who aren’t afraid to express them.
